Here is why it makes sense to use Teevity's version of "NetflixOSS Ice", the open-source "cloud usage and cost analytics".
Don't have the time to install, and keep up-to-date a version of Ice by yourself ? We support Ice so that you don't have to and we integrate features that makes its use easier to use.
Start it from a CloudFormation or from the AWS MarketPlace. It's coming soon !
Register at http://ice.teevity.com/register/
and we'll let you know as soon as we have a spot in the beta.
- Can run as a standalone system on your AWS account (no privacy concerns)
We let you run Teevity's Ice in two flavors :
- Either as a standalone product inside your own AWS account
, through the AWS Marketplace. It's as simple as SaaS but every single cost and usage bit of data stays inside your AWS account (it can even run inside a completly locked down VPC).
- Or integrated in the Teevity SaaS dashboard
, so that you benefit from all the simplicity of a SaaS solution
with all the features the Teevity service has to offer.
It's up to you to choose.
You're not loosing anything from the OSS version. We will keep in sync with the OSS version.

The initial version of Netflix Ice posted on Github has basic functionalities but require code modifications in order to support more advanced features. The design of Ice makes this quite simple (kudos to the Netflix team) but you still need to write some code. This is the case for the support of cost aggregation by tags for instance.
- Integrated with the rest of Teevity Cloud Costs Analytics features (only if you want)
Your accounts already monitored by Teevity Cloud Costs Analytics can transparently show up in Ice.
- Will soon support more clouds than just AWS
As the rest of Teevity Cloud Costs Analytics, which is a multi-cloud solution, Ice by Teevity will support other Clouds from Google, Microsoft, ... It's not yet the case but we are working on it.
Even though Ice as-a-Service by Teevity will be a paying service, it has been specifically optimized to ensure you can easilly start/stop it quickly so that you don't need to let it run continuously, saving on AWS costs.
